Jordanian expats in Qatar sent home $120 million in Q1 2023

AMMAN — Jordanians working in Qatar sent home over $120 million in remittances in the first quarter of 2023, up 9 percent from the $110 million transferred in the same period of 2022, according to Qatar-based exchange companies.اضافة اعلان

In interviews with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, company employees said that the sustained growth of remittances from Jordanian workers in Qatar is indicative of the country’s growing Jordanian community. According to recent estimates, the number of Jordanians in Qatar now stands at 70,000, compared to 60,000 two years ago.

Jordanian companies, workersRecently, numerous Jordanian enterprises have been making forays into the Qatari market, particularly in Doha. These companies include cuisine and traditional goods brands, as well as prominent names in the restaurant industry.

In Qatar, Jordanians work in a variety of occupations and industries. The majority are employed in government-run educational and medical facilities as well as private medical practices, while others work in the finance and banking sector, real estate and construction firms, the hospitality and tourism industry, and service and IT firms.
