AMMAN — A field hospital was dispatched to Turkey to aid in treating those affected by the
recent earthquake, as per Royal directives, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of
Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army, gave the instructions to prepare the hospital and met with the staff prior to their departure, conveying the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah and encouraging them to provide service to those in need.
The field hospital was equipped in a short amount of time and transported via the Royal Jordanian Air Force aircrafts, with a team of 110 doctors, nurses, and administrators.

The hospital includes various medical facilities, including surgery clinics, orthopedics, radiology, and a pharmacy, as well as two operating rooms, an ambulance, and emergency services.
‘High readiness’JAF Director of Military Operations Brig. Gen. Hassan Shanatwah emphasized the “high readiness of our armed forces to respond to such circumstances and developments” and praised the quick preparation of the field hospital.
The Foreign Ministry secretary general, the Turkish ambassador, and Turkish military attaché in Amman bid farewell to the aircrafts carrying the field hospital.
Last Monday, a
7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, causing widespread destruction, death, and injury.
Aftershocks from the earthquake were felt in neighboring countries including Lebanon, Iraq, and Egypt.
Rescue work is still ongoing to search for survivors under the rubble.
