AMMAN – Emirati Ambassador to Jordan
Ahmed Ali Mohamed Alblooshi said that
the number of Jordanians residing in the UAE has exceeded 200,000, working as
employees and in various commercial and activities, according to the Jordan
News Agency, Petra.

Speaking
on the occasion of the
UAE’s 50th National Day, Alblooshi said that Jordanian
investments in the UAE are estimated at $2 billion, particularly in the real-estate
sector, which confirms that Jordanian investors have found the UAE to be a safe
and stable country for their investments.
He said
that the average annual trade exchange between the two countries amounts to
$1.5 billion dollars, while
Emirati investments in Jordan have exceeded $17
billion, mainly in infrastructure projects, transport, tourism, agriculture, industry,
and renewable energy.
The
ambassador said that more than 20,000 Emirati tourists visit Jordan annually,
and that there are more than 80 weekly flights between the Kingdom and the UAE.
He said
that a memorandum of understanding was recently signed between the two
countries to develop the performance of the Jordanian government and improve
the services of the e-government, and to present several initiatives, most
notably an initiative to qualify 1 million Jordanian programmers with the
support of Dubai Future Foundation.
