AMMAN — Associate Professor at the Yarmouk University's Department of Modern Languages,
Batoul Al-Muhaissen, received the Order of the Academic Palm with the rank of "Knight" in recognition of her academic efforts to serve and spread the French language and culture in Jordan and for her role in consolidating Jordanian-French relations in the academic field, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Deputizing for the French Prime Minister and Minister of National Education, France's Ambassador to Jordan, Véronique Vouland-Aneini, awarded Al-Muhaissen with the Order during a ceremony held by the French Embassy in Amman.
The Order of the Academic Palm is a French national order awarded to distinguished academics and world-leading figures in culture and education.
The Order was established by Emperor Napoleon I to honor eminent professors of the University of Paris. Its current form was endorsed by a presidential decree issued by President René Coty on October 4, 1955.
Al-Muhaissen holds a PhD from the University of Rouen, France, in French linguistics and has published several international scientific researches.
