Jordanian protesters call for expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador

AMMAN — Jordanian protesters demanded the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Amman during a sit-in in front of Amman’s Al-Kalouti Mosque after Tarawih prayers on Wednesday evening, denouncing the occupation army's storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque.اضافة اعلان

Participants chanted slogans expressing their full support for Jerusalemites and worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

They also called on Jordan's government to fulfil its duty as the responsible party for safeguarding Al-Aqsa, urging practical steps to pressure Israel to stop violating the sanctity of the mosque and Jerusalem, while calling for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Amman and the canceling of Jordan's peace treaty with Israel.

Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood Society Abdel Majid Thunaibat called on the Jordanian and Arab governments to respond to the violations that took place on Wednesday morning and on into the night.




Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Action Front gave scathing comments regarding the Israeli aggressions, calling them “insulting and humiliating”.

Outcry in IrbidIn Irbid as well, protestors denounced the occupation forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and their “brutal attack” on those performing prayers and i’tikaf.

Crowds in front of Al-Hashemi Mosque in Irbid stressed the need to “stand behind the resistance to liberate the homeland and stop the tyranny of the Israeli occupation, which tramples on all international covenants”. They also called on the Kingdom to cancel its peace treaty with Israel.

The participants urge the Ministry of Awqaf to assume its responsibility of guarding the Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, and use all means of pressure against the Israeli government, including expelling its ambassador in Amman and summoning the Jordanian ambassador from Tel Aviv.
