AMMAN —
According to a Jordanian source,
King Abdullah expressed his interest in
visiting Tehran in a conversation with Iran's Foreign Minister,
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, according to Ammon News.

The
conversation, which lasted 40 minutes, reportedly took place during a meeting
on the sidelines of the
Baghdad Conference in the Dead Sea region last
December.
The Jordanian source
confirmed that the issue of a potential visit was discussed during the meeting,
with the understanding that it would take place at an appropriate time.
Iran studying
‘developments’
During the
conversation between King Abdullah and Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, the
Iranian official stated that his country is studying the development of
relations and cooperation with Jordan.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has received an invitation from Saudi Arabia's
King Salman to visit Riyadh following the recent reconciliation deal between
the two countries.
The invitation
was communicated in a letter from King Salman to President Raisi, according to
a Tweet by Mohammad Jamshidi, the Iranian president's deputy chief of staff for
political affairs.
The two
countries recently announced a deal to restore ties that had been severed for
seven years, with the help of Chinese mediation.
