— New polls conducted by the
Arab Barometer over the course of 11 years show a
decrease in support among Jordanians for the idea that men are better suited
for political leadership than women.

Results
show a decline from 78 percent in the first poll conducted 11 years ago to 64
percent in the second poll conducted recently, as reported by Hala News.
Age
groups surveyed were between 18 to 49 years old in the first poll, and 34 to 65
years old in the second.
Decreased support across genders, age groupsSupport
for male lead in political leadership decreased across genders and age groups,
with percentages decreasing from 74 to 67 percent for the age group between
18–29 years old, from 79 to 61 percent for the age group between 30–39 years
old, and from 81 to 63 percent for the age group between 40–49 years old.
Support
for the idea decreased in women across all age groups, with percentages
dropping from 71 to 59 percent for the age group between 18–29 years old, from
81 to 55 percent for the age group between 30–39 years old, and from 82 to 60
percent for the age group between 40–49 years old.
Men's
support for the idea increased from 77 to 80 percent for the age group between
18–29 years old, but decreased from 76 to 70 percent for the age group between
30–39 years old, and from 81 to 65 percent for the age group between 40–49
years old.
