AMMAN —
Minister of Water and Irrigation, Mohammed Al-Najjar, revealed on Wednesday that a team of five
individuals is managing the National Carrier project, including three Jordanian
employees and two advisors from the
United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

According to Al-Mamlaka TV, during
an oversight session in the Lower House, Najjar noted that the director of the
National Carrier project is an employee of the Jordan Valley Authority and is
leading the team.
Najjar further confirmed that the
National Carrier project remains a critical focus for the government.
The two advisors from USAID are
providing technical and financial expertise, with their salaries being paid by
the US Agency, said Najjar.
The project aims to provide the
country's population with drinking water by developing a desalination and water
transport system.
The project includes the construction of an intake plant,
desalination and pumping station, and a 450km pipeline.
