AMMAN — A Jordanian team comprising students from Yarmouk
University (YU) and Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) secured
second places in the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 Global Final.

The team participated in the “Network Track” category of the
competition, which recently took place in China.
According to a statement released by YU on Monday, the
winning team consisted of Yazan Shnik from YU’s Faculty of Information
Technology, and Aws Rayyan and Hamza Zubaidi from PSUT.
Ahmed Kleib, the Director of the YU Center for E-Learning
and Open Educational Resources, supervised the team’s participation and stated
that the competition featured 140 teams from 62 countries worldwide.
Kleib highlighted that the primary objective of the
competition was to enhance the technological and information capabilities of
young individuals.
It aimed to cultivate a talented generation capable of
contributing to the development of Jordan's digital economy and advancing its
social and economic progress through the utilization of modern technologies.
In response to the achievement, YU President Islam Massad
congratulated the Jordanian team and commended the efforts of the university's
faculty members in providing students with the necessary expertise to pursue
"outstanding" career opportunities in the Arab and regional labor
market.
