The ministry highlighted that the SMS gateway serves as a
free communication channel widely utilized across various segments of Jordanian
society, as it does not necessitate smartphones or internet connectivity,
adding that it offers services linked to a range of institutions and
government departments, extending to approximately 100 entities in total.
Additionally, the ministry elaborated that SMS messages
encompass a variety of types, ranging from outbound messages from government
institutions to citizens, to citizen response messages. In the latter, citizens
send inquiries to a specific number and subsequently receive a corresponding
response message containing the requested information.
