From an
astronomical point of view, this year’s fall lasts 89 days 20 hours and 44
minutes, until December 21, when the first day of winter starts.
In meteorology and
climatology, autumn begins on the first of September and ends at the end of
November. It is a time when daylight hours gradually decrease in the northern
hemisphere, as a result of the sun’s gradual movement toward the south, which
leads to a decrease in the amount of solar radiation that reaches the northern
hemisphere and a gradual decrease in temperatures.
Autumn in Jordan may
witness several kinds of weather, from dry and warm to relatively hot, and
sometimes rainy and cold weather, as a result of the region, and the Kingdom,
being affected by the extension of the
Red Sea and atmospheric depressions
accompanied by cold and warm air fronts.
