A court in Amman “released my client, writer Adnan
Al-Rousan, on bail set at JD1,000”, the lawyer, Assem Al-Omari, told AFP.
Rousan, 71, appeared in court on August 22, where he was
accused of “inciting conflict, sowing division... spreading false news that
harms the prestige of the state”, among other charges, Omari said at the time.
The journalist, who has around 37,000 followers on
Facebook, denied the charges against him.
