The agreement was signed in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the KHCF Board of Trustees, and Nayef Hamidi Fayez, Chairperson of the ASEZA Board of Commissioners.
Director General of the KHCF Nisreen Qatamesh and the ASEZA Commissioner for Entrepreneurship and Community Development Ramzi Kabariti signed the agreement. The initiative includes the provision of medical devices and equipment to enhance patient care at the center, addressing critical health needs in the southern governorates.
Fayez highlighted that the establishment of the center aligns with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of providing specialized medical services to the people of Aqaba and surrounding areas. He underscored the Authority's commitment to operationalizing the center, noting its significant role in reducing the burden on patients who previously had to travel long distances for treatment.
"The center is the first of its kind in Aqaba Governorate, dedicated to serving the local community and southern regions. The ASEZA is committed to supporting its operations by providing necessary resources, including medical professionals and palliative care services," Fayez stated.
Qatamesh commended the ASEZA's substantial contributions to advancing healthcare services, stressing the importance of the partnership in offering vital support to cancer patients and improving healthcare quality.
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority has donated the land for the center and funded the acquisition of key medical devices, including routine and color imaging equipment and a digital mammography system. The funding also supports the chemotherapy, endoscopy, and clinic departments within the King Abdullah II Building in Aqaba.
