AMMAN —
The King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) on Tuesday launched a national campaign to raise funds for the treatment
of cancer patients in need at the King Hussein Cancer Center.
The “JordanXCancer”
initiative aims to raise JD100,000 with the help of social media influencers by
encouraging youths to engage in adventures across the Kingdom. One such
adventure will begin on October 27 and take participants on a three-day hike
from the Dana Biosphere Reserve all the way to Petra, according to a KHCF
statement.
This year’s campaign will be carried out in
partnership with Orange Jordan and the Jordan Tourism Board.
“The success of the previous launches gives us a
positive vibe in the initiative’s fourth edition,” said Nisreen Qatamish,
director-general at KHCF, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in
covering the treatment costs of patients on waiting lists.
Under the banner of “JordanXCancer”, the KHCF launched a
number of year-round initiatives and events on February 4, 2022, with the goal
of promoting healthy lifestyle choices that reduce the risk of developing
cancer.
