AMMAN— The Jordan Transparency Center (JTC) on Thursday
organized a workshop within the its project to enhance the whistleblower and
witness protection system, which is implemented in cooperation with the Canada
Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The workshop, held at the Hassan Cultural Center in Marj
area in the southern governorate of Karak, is in line with the royal directives to make every effort to
develop oversight agencies, including the protection of witnesses and
whistleblowers, to encourage citizens to report any suspicion of corruption in
order to enhance the rule of law and raise the efficiency of the integrity,
transparency, justice and combating corruption, in addition to preserving
rights and deepening confidence in state institutions and agencies,
Assistant Governor of Karak Khaled Qudah said.
JTC Deputy Director General / CEO Hilda Ajeilat said that
Jordan is made quantum leaps to provide protection for witnesses and
whistleblowers in cases related to combating corruption and achieving standards
of integrity and transparency, which placed it at the forefront of Arab
countries in this aspect.
The workshop included lectures on international and national
efforts to combat corruption, in addition to corruption crimes and the
protection of whistleblowers in national and international legislation.اضافة اعلان
