details of Al-Durrah Border Crossing Project
The project includes establishing two separate
lanes for vehicle movement: one for trucks dedicated to trade and
transportation, and the other for small vehicles and buses serving tourists and
travelers. Upon its launch, the project's goal is to accommodate four million
passengers annually.
With a total cost of JD22 million, the project
is set to be executed over two and a half years, funded and managed by the
Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC). It covers an area of 300 dunums with a
built-up area of approximately 26,000 square meters.
Additionally, the comprehensive project plan was
developed with local Jordanian design input, in collaboration with the
Ministry of Public Works and Housing and other relevant authorities. The project's
designs adhere to modern construction requirements while preserving Jordan's
heritage and cultural legacy, especially in
Aqaba.
The tender for the project's first phase will
be announced, with implementation scheduled to begin next April, ensuring
infrastructure is built to the highest standards.
