His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his meeting with Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara in Amman on Wednesday, affirmed Jordan's support for the Syrian people in rebuilding their country through a process that includes all components of society, ensuring Syria's unity, security, and stability.

The meeting, which took place at Al-Basman Palace with the attendance of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, discussed opportunities to develop cooperation and reach common frameworks for increasing and sustaining coordination on various levels, achieving mutual interests, and enhancing Arab unity.
The King emphasized the depth of brotherly relations between the two countries and the commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, energy, and water sectors.
His Majesty also praised the outcomes of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and his personal envoy, considering it an important step toward rebuilding Syria in line with the aspirations of the Syrian people.
The King stressed the need for close coordination between the two countries to address various challenges related to border security and the prevention of arms and drug smuggling. He also emphasized the importance of Syria’s return to an active role in the Arab world.
His Majesty highlighted the necessity of creating favorable conditions for the safe and voluntary return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.
King Abdullah condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, reiterating Jordan’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
For his part, President al-Shara expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s position, under King Abdullah’s leadership, supporting Syria’s reconstruction efforts and the preservation of its unity, security, and stability.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, the Director of the King’s Office, Alaa Al-Batayneh, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, and several Syrian officials.
King Abdullah and Crown Prince Hussein bid farewell to President al-Shara at Marka Airport as he departed the Kingdom.
