His Majesty King Abdullah II, during his meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome on Monday, affirmed that granting the Palestinians their full legitimate rights in accordance with the two-state solution is the only way to achieve stability in the region.
His Majesty stressed the necessity of intensifying international efforts to reach a comprehensive ceasefire in the region, maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza, and supporting its reconstruction efforts without displacing its residents.
The King also reaffirmed the need to resume the entry of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of civilians, highlighting Italy's important role in providing humanitarian assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip and expressing his appreciation for Italy's contribution to the humanitarian air bridge.
Regarding the West Bank and Jerusalem, His Majesty warned of the dangers posed by the Israeli military operation in the West Bank and the unilateral actions that could lead to the expansion of the conflict.
The meeting also discussed strengthening the horizons of cooperation between Jordan and Italy in various fields to serve the interests of both countries.
The importance of supporting Syria in maintaining its unity, sovereignty, and stability was also emphasized during the meeting. Furthermore, developments in Lebanon were discussed, with a focus on the need to support Lebanon's sovereignty, security, and stability.
For her part, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reaffirmed her country's support for Jordan's pivotal role in the Middle East and the Kingdom's efforts to achieve peace and promote dialogue.
