His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, today Sunday, patronized the celebration organized by the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the eternal Battle of Karama.

Upon His Majesty’s arrival, accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, to the memorial site for the martyrs of the Battle of Karama, artillery fired twenty-one rounds in His Majesty’s honor. He was received by Major General Yousef Ahmed Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and a number of senior officers.
At the beginning of the celebration, which was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Hussein, His Majesty's Advisor, Chairman of the National Policies Council, His Royal Highness Prince Rashed bin Al-Hassan, His Majesty's Advisor, His Royal Highness Prince Mired bin Radd, the Chief of the Royal Court, and a number of senior civilian and military officials, the Armed Forces' music played the national anthem.
His Majesty then reviewed the honor guard, who were lined up to salute him.
The King laid a wreath at the memorial for the martyrs of the Battle of Karama.
The Armed Forces' Mufti prayed for mercy and forgiveness for the martyrs of the Battle of Karama, the Arab Army, and the security services, asking Almighty God to grant them the highest place in Heaven with the Prophets, the Truthful, and the Righteous.
His Majesty and the attendees then recited Al-Fatiha for the pure souls of the martyrs, followed by the playing of the Last Return march.
His Majesty, the Supreme Commander, reviewed the names of the martyrs of the units and formations that participated in the Battle of Karama, as aircraft from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, specifically F-16 jets, flew overhead.
