AMMAN — His Majesty
King Abdullah, on
Wednesday via telepresence, attended part of the Aqaba Process meetings,
according to a Royal Court statement.

The meetings covered emerging security risks and
threats, and ways to counter them, especially in light of the technological
developments and tools exploited by terrorist groups to spread extremist
ideologies and misinformation.
This round of meetings, attended by His Royal Highness
Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, covered means of unifying and integrating efforts
among all stakeholders to pre-empt threats and proactively prevent them.
The meetings included security and military
representatives from the US, and European, Asian, and African countries, as
well as representatives of major international companies and academic
institutions.
The
Aqaba Process initiative, launched by His Majesty
in 2015, aims to enhance security and military coordination and cooperation, as
well as the exchange of expertise and information, among various regional and
international stakeholders, to counter terrorism within a holistic approach.
Due to global interest in its themes, the Aqaba
Process initiative’s meetings have also been held outside Jordan, in Albania,
the Netherlands, Nigeria, the US, the UN, and Singapore.
Director of the Office of His Majesty
Jafar Hassan,
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti, General
Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, and
Public Security Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh attended the
meetings.
