AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, during a briefing on the
government’s economic priorities on Sunday, directed the government to take
timely measures to make the impact of its economic priorities tangible for
citizens and the private sector, urging a monthly progress report.

Chairing part of
a Cabinet meeting, attended by HRH Crown Prince Hussein, King Abdullah urged
all to shoulder their responsibility in translating these priorities into
tangible outcomes.
His Majesty
emphasised the need to efficiently capitalise on available opportunities to
counter unemployment and re-stimulate growth, highlighting the importance of
striving for recovery from the repercussions of the
COVID-19 pandemic.
The King noted
the importance of maintaining dialogue, partnership, and teamwork with the
private sector, as well as streamlining procedures and lowering fees for
Jordanian and foreign investors.
Prime Minister
Bisher Khasawneh outlined the government’s
economic priorities for the years
2021–2023, which include enhancing the climate for investments and doing
business, stepping up competitiveness, stimulating the private sector, and
supporting priority economic sectors including ICT, agriculture, industry,
tourism, and energy.
Royal Hashemite
Court Chief Yousef Issawi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar
Hassan accompanied the King on the visit to the Prime Ministry.
