Talking about partisan life, “an
accumulative process” that “requires putting public interest before
personal benefit, and realistic platforms before personal ambitions”, the King said Jordan should build
on past experience before “moving into modernization, which
entails providing an enabling legislative and political environment that
guarantees wider participation in public life and decision-making, starting
with realistic, platform-based political parties”.
Challenges brought about by the
COVID-19 pandemic, world economic crisis, price hikes, and a food and energy
crisis, the Economic Modernization Vision for the next 10 years, public-private
sector partnerships, administrative reform, and regional cooperation were
tackled, as was Jordan’s effort, in cooperation with different other countries,
to counter terrorist and security threats against Arab countries.
His Majesty highlighted the
importance of “dialogue as the way to resolve disagreements”,
and stressed that the Palestinian cause “cannot be overlooked. It is our first
and foremost cause. It is the key to lasting and comprehensive peace and
stability”.
