Stresses need to work together to prevent further escalation between Palestinians, Israelis

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, in a phone call with Egypt President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday, reiterated the need to work together to prevent further escalation of the situation between the Palestinians and the Israelis, which would have dangerous repercussions on all efforts towards comprehensive calm, and on regional security and stability, according to a Royal Court statement. King Abdullah called for stepping up joint efforts to de-escalate the dangerous situation in Gaza and its surroundings, stressing the need to encourage both sides to commit to self-restraint, protect civilians, and respect international humanitarian law.
