King Abdullah on Wednesday met with members of key US Senate committees, including members of the Senate Armed Services, Foreign Relations, and Appropriations committees, according to a Royal Hashemite Court statement.

The meetings, which were attended by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah, centered on efforts to bolster Jordan-US relations and “expand new horizons of cooperation in various sectors.”
According to the statement, the attendees touched on Jordan’s implementation of economic reform programs to “enhance growth and create job opportunities.”
During the meeting, King Abdullah expressed his expressed his appreciation for the United States’ ongoing support for projects and development programs in Jordan. He also reaffirmed the need to push the peace process forward between Palestine and Israel and highlighted the need for stabilizing the ceasefire in the
Gaza Strip and putting an end to unilateral Israeli measures in East Jerusalem, the statement said.
Efforts to fight terrorism and find political solutions to regional crises were also discussed.
According to the statement, members of US Senate committees “reiterated their support for Jordan’s role in enhancing regional stability” and commended King Abdullah’s “wisdom in navigating regional challenges, commending reform efforts in Jordan.”
