AMMAN — His Majesty
King Abdullah on Tuesday received a letter from Japanese Prime Minister Kishida
Fumio, highlighting the strategic relations between the two countries, and
reiterating Japan’s keenness on expanding cooperation in various fields.

King Abdullah received the
letter during a meeting with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry
Nishimura Yasutoshi, who delivered the letter, at Al-Husseiniya Palace, a Royal
Court statement said.
At the meeting, attended by
HRH Crown Prince Hussein, His Majesty expressed appreciation of Japan’s support
for development projects in Jordan, pointing to opportunities of bilateral
cooperation in capacity building in the fields of ICT, as well as research and
development.
Also during the meeting —
attended by HRH Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief adviser for
religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy—the King highlighted the
opportunities in Jordan’s ICT sector, which is rich with talents that enable
the Kingdom to become a regional hub for developing 5G-related technologies.
For his part, Minister
Nishimura commended Jordan’s role in enhancing regional economic cooperation,
stressing Japan’s keenness on enhancing partnership with the Kingdom across
various economic and development sectors.
Director of the Office of His Majesty
Jafar Hassan, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh,
and a number of senior Japanese officials and business people attended the
meeting.
