AMMAN — The Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Krishan will is expected to hold two separate meetings at the Ministry of Local Administration on Wednesday with the heads of municipal committees and joint services councils on winter preparation and beautifying initiatives.

Krishan, took measures earlier this week to assign directors and officials in the ministry to carry out weekly programmed tours of areas in the governorates and districts and provide him with a weekly report on the progress clean-up campaigns, according to Al-Ghad News.
He also previously asked staff at the Ministry of Local Administration, municipalities, joint services councils, and municipal affairs directorates to prepare for emergency situations in the coming winter. In addition to ensuring the readiness of equipment, and preparing halls in case they need to be used as shelters.
Krishan directed authorities to follow up and monitor potential hot spots that may pose a threat to the lives and safety of citizens during snowfall, heavy rains, or floods, and to follow up on their previous efforts by ensuring that valleys are cleaned and free of debri.
