for medical specialties in Jordan.

The decision entails halting direct scholarships, diplomatic
dependents' missions, and suspending the inclusion of ministry missions for
medical specialties (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and pharmaceutical
sciences) to Jordan, starting from the upcoming academic year 2023-2024.
The decision also includes the suspension of changing majors
for students enrolled in Jordanian universities prior to the issuance of the
decision. Furthermore, it prohibits the transfer of scholarship locations to
Jordan. The decision takes effect immediately upon its issuance, Khaberni
reported.
Informed sources revealed that the decision comes after
multiple visits by specialized delegations to universities in Jordan during the
past months.
These visits were based on reports prepared by the
delegations, which conducted extensive studies to assess the quality of
education.
Additionally, the decision was made based on a
recommendation from the committee responsible for setting standards and
determining institutions for medical education and programs outside Kuwait. The
committee reached this decision during its meeting at the end of last May.
The sources affirmed that the decision was made with the
approval of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Academic
Accreditation and Quality Assurance, dated June 4.
