Ministry spokesperson, Mohammad Al-Zyoud, stated that coordination has been made with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to address all public and private universities, as well as community colleges, to inform non-Jordanian students that working in the labor market is a clear violation of Jordanian labor law.
He added that the ministry, through joint inspection campaigns with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate, has apprehended many university students, both male and female, from various nationalities since the beginning of the year. He emphasized that those who enter the Kingdom for university studies must focus on their studies and are prohibited from entering the labor market.
Al-Zyoud also pointed out that any employer who hires a non-Jordanian student, whether at a public or private university or a community college, will be fined no less than 800 dinars for each student caught working for them.
He concluded by noting that the ministry will continue its inspection campaign to enforce labor laws and address violations related to non-Jordanian workers.
