AMMAN — In the first quarter of 2023, the Ministry of Labor
has taken measures to combat child labor, impounding a total of 166 cases and
issuing 1,161 violations along with 584 warnings to employers.

These actions were carried out in accordance with the
various articles of the Labor Law that prohibit the employment of children,
according to a local media outlet.
ViolationsThe most recent statistics show 669 violations of Article 12
of the Labor Law were recorded during this period. Among these violations,
eight warnings were issued, and 38 cases involved breaches of defense orders
and communications.
Furthermore, the ministry has targeted employers who have
committed violations, issuing 57 warnings for a total of 67 offenses.
Turning attention to non-Jordanian workers, the Labor
Ministry has undertaken specific actions to address their employment status.
Notably, eight workers had their deportation orders canceled, while three
others were released and sponsored, indicating a potential change in their
legal status.
In addition, 26 individuals were fined for violations
related to their work, while 157 were ultimately deported from the country.
