This decision exempts apartments exceeding 150 square meters from 50% of registration fees.
In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Al-Amoush mentioned, "The number of apartments sold exceeding 150 square meters reached 2,743 in November and December of last year, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2023."
He added that the real estate trading volume in 2024 reached approximately 6.7 billion dinars, and an increase is expected in 2025.
Al-Amoush highlighted ongoing efforts to launch a new package of over 22 e-services as part of the department’s digital transformation plan. The goal is to automate all services by the end of 2025.
He noted that the number of visitors to the department has decreased by 70%, and in November alone, 11,451 electronic sales transactions and 67,243 documents were processed, including property deeds and land plans, reflecting significant progress in transaction procedures.
It is worth noting that on November 12, the Cabinet decided to exempt apartments exceeding 150 square meters from 50% of registration fees.
This is in addition to a previous decision to fully exempt apartments under 150 square meters from registration fees for first-time buyers.
The Cabinet also exempted residential apartments from 50% of property taxes for three years for first-time buyers, aiming to ease the financial burden on citizens taking housing loans.
