Beirut – The first session of the Lebanese parliament to elect a new president, held today Thursday, ended without reaching a consensus, as none of the candidates secured the required number of votes for victory in the first round, which is 86 votes out of the 128-member parliament.اضافة اعلان

Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun received 71 votes, while two votes went to Shibli Malat, four ballots were declared invalid, and 37 votes were blank. Additionally, 14 votes were cast with the name "Sovereignty and the Constitution."

Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri adjourned the session and called for another one to be held in two hours.
