AMMAN — The Parliamentary Legal Committee headed by Abdul Monem Odat on Tuesday continued discussions on the elections and political parties draft laws for the year 2021, according to Ad-Dustour daily.اضافة اعلان

Tuesday’s discussions followed a series of meetings with political parties over the past weeks to sound their opinions, and listen to their observations and proposals on the two draft laws, Odat said.

The parties draft law has initially allocated 30 percent of Parliament seats to the parties; this figure will then be raised to 50 percent and eventually to 65 percent, with the aim of having a Lower House based on programmatic party blocs that will lead to parliamentary governments, Odat said.

He also stressed the need for all rules and regulations that affect and restrict partisan work to be brought into line with the parties’ draft law, which criminalizes anyone who hinders the work of the parties.
