The media spokesperson for Jordan's ministry, Muhannad
Khatib, stated in a press release on Sunday that the decision to accredit Jordanian
universities had been confirmed through an official letter from the cultural
and academic attaché of the Libyan embassy in Amman, the Jordan News Agency,
Petra, reported.
As a result of this decision, all certificates granted by
Jordanian universities to Libyan students will now be accredited by the Libyan
Quality Assurance Center, the spokesperson added.
Efforts to support Libyan students
The statement further emphasized the ongoing efforts of the
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to maintain constant
communication with the cultural and academic attaché office of Libya in Amman.
These efforts aim to address any challenges faced by Libyan
students seeking admission to Jordanian higher education institutions.
Boosting strategy to attract foreign students
The recent accreditation of Jordanian universities by Libya
marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research's strategy to attract foreign students for
the period of 2023–2027.
The strategy, developed in collaboration with its strategic
partner, the Jordan Tourism Board, and subsequently approved by the Cabinet,
aims to increase the enrollment of foreign students in Jordanian higher
education institutions.
It is worth noting that a few weeks ago, the Saudi Ministry
of Education also accredited all public and private universities in Jordan,
further strengthening the higher education cooperation between the two
countries.
