AMMAN — A local team consisting
of representatives from various chambers of industry, government ministries,
and regulatory bodies convened to develop a comprehensive five-year industrial
policy for Jordan.

Chaired by secretary-general of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and
Supply, Dana Alzoubi, the team held its inaugural gathering to lay the
groundwork for the policy's formulation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra,
reported.
PrioritiesFollowing the initial meeting, a series of consultative gatherings took
place throughout the week, involving both public and private authorities.
These sessions aimed to discuss the key priorities of the proposed
industrial policy and identify the main strategies that would effectively
address the challenges faced by the industrial sector in the country.
Broad representation for effective collaborationThe local team responsible for developing the industrial policy boasts a
diverse composition, including individuals from prominent industry chambers
such as Jordan, Amman, Zarqa, and Irbid.
Additionally, representatives from essential government entities, namely
the ministries of transport, energy, investment, and environment, as well as
the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization and the Jordan Food and Drug
Administration, have been included in the team's formation.
