According to the Washington Post, firefighting teams made significant progress in containing the fires on Sunday.

However, meteorologists have warned that strong winds are expected to return this week, which could reignite the flames.

Today, firefighting teams are racing against time to contain two of the largest fires that have been burning for six days, taking advantage of slight improvements in weather conditions.

However, the predicted strong winds, which could reach speeds of 113 km/h in mountainous areas, threaten to worsen the situation.

The National Weather Service issued red flag warnings about the danger of wildfire conditions until Wednesday, with sustained winds expected to reach 80 km/h.

The fires have scorched tens of thousands of acres and destroyed many buildings, with economic losses exceeding 150 billion dollars.

Over 166,000 people have been evacuated, and local authorities continue efforts to control the flames and prevent their spread to new areas.
