AMMAN – On Sunday, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) announced that there is a low probability of mixed
snow, rain, and hail on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, Jo24 reported.
Monday’s
forecast
On Monday, the weather will be cold and
partly cloudy, with periodic rain showers in the Kingdom's north and center, as
well as in restricted areas of the east and southwest. Showers will be heavy in
the north, with moderate winds in the southwest.
During the night, the weather will
become cloudier, with rainfall in the northern and central parts that may be
heavy at times and accompanied by thunder and hail. The southwestern regions
are also predicted to see light rain showers. In the late hours of the night,
there is a low chance of light snow mixed with rain over high southern
mountainous areas, specifically the Al-Sharah Mountains, for a brief duration,
with moderate southwestern winds.
Monday's weather warnings include:
- Flooding in valleys and low-lying areas in the north and center of the Kingdom, including the Dead Sea area.
- Reduced visibility due to fog and low clouds touching the ground over mountainous areas.
- Risk of slipping on roads during rainfall.

Tuesday’s
forecast
On Tuesday, temperatures will drop
by roughly 4-5 degrees Celsius. It will be quite chilly and gloomy,
particularly in the north and center of the Kingdom, with sporadic rain showers
in the northern areas and little rain in the Kingdom's western central regions.
Showers may be intense in the northern parts during the night.
High mountainous locations may have
mixed snow and rain showers for a brief period, and winds will be southwestern
and vigorous, with occasional strong gusts, causing dust to be thrown up in the
Kingdom's south and east regions.
Tuesday's weather warnings include
the possibility of limited horizontal visibility, particularly in mountainous
places, due to fog.
- Roads may become slippery during rainy weather.
- Risk of high wind speed and gusts.
- Active winds in the south and east of the Kingdom may cause dust to rise, reducing horizontal visibility.
Wednesday's
ForecastOn Wednesday, the weather will be
quite chilly and overcast, particularly in the Kingdom's north and center.
Intermittent rain showers are forecast in the northern and central regions,
which may be mixed with snow on high mountain summits.
Warnings for Wednesday include
limited horizontal visibility, particularly over mountainous locations, due to
fog and low clouds brushing the ground.
- Rainfall might cause slippage on roads.
- Dust from powerful winds in desert locations may decrease vision during the day.
- Risk of frost forming at night, particularly in high southern alpine and desert regions.
