The House of Representatives had voted on the decision to
punish Awaysha after he was referred to
Parliament’s Legal Committee for
insulting Ziyadat, Lower House Speaker Ahmad Al-Safadi said.
Safadi apologized to the minister on behalf of Parliament
and the representatives, stressing that MPs should not insult ministers, and
vice versa.
Parliament has an
internal legal system, and follows the
Constitution and a Code of Conduct, and it is not permissible for any deputy to
insult a member of the government, nor for a government official to insult a
representative, he said.
