AMMAN — MP Imad Al-Adwan, who has been detained by Israeli
authorities since April 23 on charges of alleged smuggling of weapons and gold,
was able to meet with his defense team for the first time in prison on
Thursday.

According to lawyer Osama Al-Saadi, there will be a session
in Ofer court on Sunday to discuss the extension of Adwan's detention and the
possibility of filing charges against him, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
Israeli Supreme Court rejects MP’s lawyer's request
The defense team's successful meeting with Adwan came after
submitting two motions to the Israeli Supreme Court. The court will hold a new
session on Sunday to consider the prosecution's request to extend Adwan's
detention pending investigation.
On Wednesday, the Israeli Supreme Court rejected the request
of the MP's lawyer to allow Adwan to meet with his lawyers, which had been
issued at the previous court session.
