During the legislative session, Atiyeh urged the government
and the House of Representatives to condemn Bahous' statement, which
contradicts Jordan's official and popular attitude on the Palestinian cause. He
went on to say that she should have supported the
resistance in Gaza rather
than attacking it, Khaberni reported.
Armouti
described Bahous’ statement as "painful and sad for all
Jordanian citizens, where it shook their consciences."
“She
must be held accountable, and the government must issue a statement respecting
its position towards Palestine,” he stated.
He
clarified that Bahous did not make this statement on the spur of the moment.
Her statement accused the Palestinian resistance, notably Hamas, of engaging in
"unreasonable
sexual violence during its devastating attacks." Her
account had no evidence of such actions by the resistance. Additionally,
numerous official sources confirmed the false nature of the rape and sexual
harassment claims fabricated by Israelis.
The
report also omitted terrorist crimes committed by the
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) against women, children, the elderly, youth, places of worship,
universities, schools, residences, medical facilities, infrastructure, and even
gravedigging.
