The Lower House
approved the amendment of the
Economy and Investment Committee, specifying the
percentage of non-Jordanians that can be employed in administrative and
technical jobs in investment projects. The percentage agreed upon is between 25
and 40 percent of the total number of workers, provided there are no Jordanians
who could perform these jobs.
Several deputies
protested this amendment, with some saying that non-Jordanians should not be
allowed to work in administrative and technical jobs that require specialized
skills.
