AMMAN — Utilizing drones, authorities
seized 2,900 tonnes of unprocessed organic fertilizer in the northern
governorate of Mafraq.
Mafraq Governor Salman Njada told the Jordan News
Agency, Petra, that the drones on Sunday detected three sites containing large
amounts of unprocessed organic fertilizer, estimated at 2,900 tonnes, which
unidentified persons were attempting to transfer to their lands for farming
purposes.
Unprocessed fertilizer, he explained, violates
agricultural standards, as it poses a risk to public safety and the
environment, and leads to the spread of insects and pests that infect plants,
and negatively impact the environment.
