The story went viral on social media after a report was posted showing a family out in the cold at night burning old tires for heat. The father, who has an eight-year-old autistic child, said he had defaulted on rent payments for six months.
In a tweet on Friday, the minister, who went to the eastern desert town for a first-hand look into the situation, said that the family was not actually stranded. "It turned out that the landlord did not evict this family, who went out in the open for a couple of hours then returned home. The problem with all its aspects will be solved tomorrow."
