PARIS — During its participation in
UNESCO’s 42nd General
Conference in Paris,
Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific
Research Azmi Mahafzah stated that the current situation in the region tests
the moral and ethical standards upheld by the long-standing organization, the
Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

He stressed that the prolonged
Israeli occupation, violating
international rules, is responsible for the bloodshed, suffering, oppression,
and tragedies faced by the Palestinian people.
Mahafzah also highlighted
Jordan's emphasis on
UNESCO fulfilling its duties within its authority, aiding
in the revitalization of educational institutions, restoration of cultural
property, and reducing the risks faced by journalists in the field.
