Man jailed for fake Facebook post on donkey meat

AMMAN — A Jordanian court sentenced a man to three months in jail Sunday for falsely claiming on a Facebook post that an Amman restaurant sold donkey meat, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.اضافة اعلان

The post went viral, causing a stir on local social networks about a month ago.

The court said, announcing its verdict, that it found the man guilty of spreading fake news that caused uproar in the community. The ruling can be appealed in a higher court.
