Operating under the slogan "
No to Smoking, Yes to a Healthy Life," the mobile clinic aims to help individuals quit smoking and
provide essential guidance on healthy nutrition.
The launch of the clinic, which came almost a week after
World No-Tobacco Day, was made possible through a collaboration between the
Health and Professional Supervision Department in the
Greater Amman Municipality and the Parks Department.
Promoting a smoke-free lifestyle
World No-Tobacco Day, celebrated annually on May 31, serves
as a platform for the
World Health Organization and its global partners to
raise awareness about the health risks associated with tobacco use.
The event advocates for effective policies that aim to reduce tobacco consumption and protect public health.
Tobacco use stands as the leading single preventable cause
of death worldwide, claiming the lives of one out of every 10 adults.
World No Tobacco Day seeks to protect both current and
future generations from the severe health consequences linked to smoking. In
addition to preserving public health, the initiative aims to mitigate the
social, environmental, and economic harms stemming from tobacco consumption and
exposure to secondhand smoke.
