to support scientific research and innovation by implementing joint research
projects and activities, setting priorities for research aligned with the
"Jordanian Badia Development Program," and hosting researchers and
staff from the program at the university.
Professor Al-Refai
welcomed the collaboration, emphasizing its role in advancing scientific
research and the importance of the program. He highlighted that the program was
established in 1992 under the vision of His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin
Talal to conduct research and studies in the northeastern Jordanian Badia
region.
He added that the
partnership would open many opportunities to develop educational and research
programs that serve the community and contribute to Jordan's vision for
sustainable development. The collaboration will also enable the proposal of
joint research projects to support the development of the Badia.
Professor Nusier
affirmed that the university, due to its geographic location, is an integral
part of the program and will make every effort to serve the Badia through
scientific research and development studies. This commitment aligns with the
university's dedication to community service. He also expressed the
university's readiness to engage in partnerships that foster practical,
research-based solutions to community challenges.
Professor Wedyan noted
that the cooperation between the Center and the University reflects their
shared commitment to supporting scientific research and developing innovative,
sustainable solutions to address challenges facing Jordan's environment and natural
resources.
He added that the
Memorandum would bolster efforts to rehabilitate rangelands, expand green
areas, and enhance water security by applying innovative methodologies that
integrate the water, energy, food, and environment sectors.
