Minister of Labor Dr. Khaled Al-Bakkar emphasized the strategic importance of the MoU in developing a labor market information system, labor market observatory, and in-depth sectoral studies. He pointed out that the MoU supports the establishment of a comprehensive database for labor market indicators, enabling the Ministry to make decisions based on scientific foundations and clear methodology, ensuring high transparency. The MoU will also contribute to achieving the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision.

Al-Bakkar explained that providing accurate data will identify sectors in need of Jordanian labor, develop appropriate training and qualification programs for Jordanians, analyze unemployment data to accurately determine its causes, develop effective strategies to reduce unemployment, and provide reliable data to assist in the development of laws and regulations that govern the labor market, protect the rights of both workers and employers, and keep pace with labor market changes. This will ensure fairness, equality, and the provision of a decent work environment that attracts investments.

On his part, Director General of the Department of Statistics Dr. Haider Fereihat emphasized that the Ministry of Labor is a strategic partner for the Department of Statistics.

He clarified that the MoU aims to link, facilitate, and accelerate the exchange of statistical data and information in general. He noted that the Department of Statistics will provide the Ministry of Labor with statistical data, information, and indicators related to the labor market and related indicators.

Fereihat explained that the Department of Statistics is the only government entity authorized to collect and publish statistical information and is responsible for providing various social, economic, demographic, and agricultural statistics with the highest level of accuracy and comprehensiveness.
