Minister allocates 10% of lottery funds to elderly homes

AMMAN — On Monday, Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa stated that 10 percent of proceeds from the Jordan Charity Lottery are going towards elderly homes in the Kingdom, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

The Minister of Social Development visited the Home of Human Care in Al-Fuhais, run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Cross Congregation of Lebanon. During her visit, she confirmed that the ministry aims to support the creation and renovation of elderly recreational clubs.



The Ministry is collaborating with governorate councils the councils of to raise awareness in establishing recreational clubs for the elderly to alleviate the burden on retirement homes. Bani Mustafa pointed out that, currently, ministry social workers aid the elderly in performing their day-to-day roles efficiently and professionally.

During her visit, Bani Mustafa was briefed by the director of the facility on the services and care provided to the elderly. She commended the humanitarian role played by the facility, noting that her visit shared the joy of the holiday season with the elderly.
