Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Makram Al-Qaisi
, met with Archbishop Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, Apostolic Nuncio and Ambassador
of the Holy See.

During the meeting, Qaisi discussed the development of
tourism relations between Jordan and the Vatican, focusing on
Christian religious tourism, the Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.
Future plans, connecting sites
Qaisi outlined the ministry's plans, including connecting
five Vatican-approved sites along the Christian pilgrimage trail: the Baptism
Site, Mukawir, Mount Nebo,
Mar Elias, and the Church of Our Lady of the
Mountain.
The first section of a 16-kilometer path linking the
Baptism Site to Mount Nebo is complete, and plans are underway to connect Mount Nebo to
Mukawir. Efforts to rehabilitate the castle and Byzantine church in the
heritage village are also ongoing.
