AMMAN — Training public spokespersons is a
key step to unifying public media discourse, ensuring the flow of information,
and interministerial coordination, Minister of State for Media Affairs Faisal
Shboul said on Monday.

The minister, who is also the government
spokesperson, gave his remarks at the conclusion of a training program for
public spokespersons held in partnership with the Jordan Media Institute (JMI)
and the UN Development program.
Twenty-four public spokespersons participated in the
program that than from January 19 to February 3, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.
Shboul said that the government, within the
framework of its extended and ongoing partnership with the JMI, will hold a new
program aimed at offering similar training to officials at public intuitions in
order to develop government communication and enhancing the capabilities of
their employees.
He stressed the importance of media spokespersons’
role at ministries and public institutions in communicating those
organizations’ messages to media outlets and the society, and in addressing
hate speech, rumors, and negativity that spread on social media.
